POSITION SUMMARY: The Development Associate at The Brinton Museum will play a key role in supporting the museum’s fundraising, membership and donor engagement efforts. This individual will be responsible for implementing strategies that strengthen donor relationships, secure philanthropic support, and promote membership growth. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about advancing the mission of The Brinton Museum to inspire and engage through art, culture and history.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

Donor Relations and Stewardship

  • Maintain accurate donor records and manage the donor database (DonorPerfect)
  • Assist in planning and executing donor stewardship activities, including personalized communications, thank-you letters, and recognition programs
  • Coordinate donor acknowledgment and reporting processes to ensure timely and meaningful engagement

Fundraising Support

  • Assist in preparing grant applications and reports, ensuring compliance with funder requirements
  • Support the Director of Development in planning and implementing fundraising campaigns, including annual giving, capital campaigns, and special events
  • Conduct prospect research to identify new individual, corporate, and foundation donors

Membership Program

  • Manage the museum’s membership program, including tracking renewals, processing new memberships, and coordinating member benefits
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase membership acquisition and retention
  • Coordinate member communications, including newsletters, eblasts, and invitations
  • Collaborate with Curatorial team on the development and execution of Member Meet-Ups and similar membership programming

Event Coordination

  • Assist with planning and executing fundraising and membership events, such as galas, donor receptions, and member appreciation gatherings
  • Coordinate event logistics, including invitations, RSVPs, catering, and on-site support

Administrative Duties

  • Provide administrative support for the Development Department, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and maintaining files
  • Generate regular reports on fundraising and membership performance metrics
  • Collaborate with other departments to align development activities with the museum’s programs and exhibitions
  • Oversee the development and use of online forms for membership and donation processing

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Monday - Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM and occasional evening work for special events
  • 40 hours a week

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in a related field
  • 1 year of office administrative experience
  • 2 years of experience in development, fundraisings or a related role (preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with donors, members, and colleagues
  • Proficiency in donor database management (experience with DonorPerfect or a similar CRM system is highly desirable)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with museum operations and programs is a plus

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Hourly wage up to $22/hour based on qualifications
