What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Dining Services position at The Bristal Assisted Living?
- Screens, interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, counsels, disciplines and terminates dining room personnel.
- Adhere to and uphold company policies and procedures.
- Prepares schedules for Dining Room personnel according to AL census and forwards to Regional DDS to review and file.
- Assigns wait staff and bus staff to their stations on each shift.
- Assigns side duties to staff.
- Assures that all dining room systems are functional before, during and after meals.
- Constantly observes food delivery, table satisfaction and bussing procedures.
- Maintains safety standards at all times and performs safety observations on Dining Room personnel.
- Oversees In Room Tray Service-Temporary Illness trays for individual residents as well as building quarantine according to the state Department of Health guidelines.
- Responsible for utilizing Point Click Care for: checking resident admissions, discharges, transfers, diet changes/nutrition management. Print/maintain diet lists in kitchen and Reflections. Print Reflections dining tickets. Update seating chart and resident preferences as needed.
- Greet residents.
- Addresses complaints from Residents and Guests & informs Director of FS of complaints or problems.
- Inspects all dining room personnel for proper uniforms, nametags and hairstyle.
- Prepares and presents monthly in-service to Dining Room personnel.
- Maintains records of Guest checks.
- Supervises cleanliness of dining room.
- Supervises cleanliness of kitchen areas assigned to wait staff.
- Acts as Host/Hostess when they are off duty.
- Support food service operations in Reflections and Recreation; conduct training, QA audits, ensure proper practice for handling and storing food is maintained.
- Responsible for setup and breakdown of special events, action stations, theme buffets, including cleanliness and storage of equipment.
- Take inventory, generate orders and maintain par levels for dining linens, china, glass and silver.
- Follow all workplace injury procedures, including completion of reports for timely reporting and issuing corrective action when necessary.
- Wear clean and proper uniform.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
