About the role :
BSI is looking for a dynamic and motivated Associate Consultant with 3-5 years of experience to join our EHS team at an exciting client site in the vibrant Boston, MA area. Responsibilities :
- Manage laboratory inspections, documenting unsafe conditions, and collaborating with staff to develop JHAs and identify project-specific risks.
- Lead incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, and implement corrective actions to ensure a safe workplace.
- Organize safety meetings with senior management to proactively address hazards and risks.
- Oversee chemical management, review new chemical approvals, and ensure proper chemical storage, segregation, and compliance.
- Conduct periodic hazardous chemical inventory reviews for regulatory compliance.
- Lead lab safety training sessions for new hires and employees needing recertification (e.g., bloodborne pathogens, Safe Start).
- Lead Large Quantity Generator requirements and develop contingency plans for waste management.
- Provide consulting on spill response, cleanup, and local reporting to agencies as needed.
- Implement biosafety, hazard communication, and chemical safety programs.
- Monitoring of COVID-19 safety measures (population density, social distancing, mask use, cleaning, etc.).
- Expertise in EHS regulatory compliance, with local experience in Cambridge a plus.

The salary for this position can range from $80,800 to $111,100 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
