The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with IBM mainframe environments, database performance optimization, and system integration. This role involves ensuring data integrity, security, and optimal performance across development, test, and production environments.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in IBM mainframe environments (z/OS, TSO/ISPF, JCL, SDSF).
- Strong knowledge of DB2, IMS, IDMS, or other mainframe database systems.
- Familiarity with storage subsystems, VSAM, and data replication technologies.
- IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2.
- Relevant ITIL or DevOps certifications.
Database Administration:
- Manage and maintain mainframe databases (e.g., DB2, IMS, IDMS) across development, test, and production environments.
- Perform database installations, configurations, migrations, and upgrades.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Resolve performance bottlenecks and provide recommendations for system improvements.
- Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Perform disaster recovery tests and address issues proactively.
- Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to ensure seamless integration of database services.
- Support new application rollouts and system upgrades.
- Implement robust security measures, including user access controls and data encryption.
- Monitor and mitigate security vulnerabilities and threats.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Provide on-call support for high-priority incidents.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including database schemas, configurations, and procedures.
