What you will be doing:
- Perform a wide variety of general equipment maintenance repairs and services to maintain a clean, safe work area for employees/guests using appropriate tools and materials
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance
- Alert the Convention Services Manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur
- Assure safety standards, including use of PPE, are used which comply with all company, local, city, state and federal guidelines
- Order parts and repair services through approved vendors/outside contractors
- Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
- Track invoices on repairs and reconciliation of invoices
- Work within expense limits established
- Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operations
- Distribute and retrieve Convention Services equipment throughout the property and off-site venues
- Perform minor electrical repairs on vacuums and podiums, including replacement of
- plugs/cords
- Paint Convention Services equipment using brush and aerosol paints
- Provide wood putty/sanding/varnish and other repairs on banquet tables, podiums and dance floor
- Supply hardware replacement on moveable partitions
- Coordinate preventative maintenance of department vehicles through approved service providers
- Special projects, other responsibilities and duties as assigned
- Perform meeting room inspections and make/track work orders for repair
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Uphold and abide by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
What we are looking for:
- One year certification from college or technical school; or a minimum of two years related experience and / or training
- Experience, understanding and comfortable with utilizing various hand and power tools.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other computer based application systems
- Valid US Driver’s License required with the ability to drive vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions
- Any employee driving a Broadmoor vehicle must be 18 years or older
- Forklift Certified or ability to be trained
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Occasional heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs. with assistance.) with a work environment that may be indoors and outdoors at times.
