Broad Function:
The Insulation Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for ensuring that all requirements and work activities are performed safely, cost-effectively and with proper quality. In addition to providing guidance and supervision of regional paint/coatings projects, this role will perform or support the Estimator duties of: analyzing drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services on behalf of the organization.
In addition, this position provides assistance and subject matter expertise in managing time and material maintenance and other paint and coatings work.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock’s Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business
- Understand, disseminate and adhere to all corporate policies and procedures related to Paint and Coatings activities
- Oversee all aspects of designated Paint Projects in territory
- Oversee Lump Sum coatings work
- Estimates and bid proposal
- RFQ Bid/No Bid decisions to be made by Coatings Manager, up to his level of DOA
- Estimates are prepared by estimator with input from and review by Coatings Manager, PM or Supt
- Coatings Manager approves all LS bids up to his DOA
- Coatings Manager sends approved estimate back to estimator with list of qualifications to prepare proposal
- Coatings Manager, depending on level of DOA, provides final approval before submittal
- Estimate to Job transitions - Coatings Manager hands off successful bids to PM/Supt (who reviewed the estimate), who will provide details to Supervisor.
- Quality Control and Quality Assurance, including QC tools and instruments, calibration records, Daily QC reports and retention, etc.
- Company owned painting equipment and tools, in support of the corporate Asset Management Equipment Department, including
- Storage and logistics to/from job sites
- Inspections and certifications
- Maintenance and repair (either in-house or third party)
- Business Development and Sales
- The Paint Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for building relations with current and potential clients in their area
- The Coatings Managers and Project Managers/Superintendents are responsible for building relations with vendors (paint manufacturers and equipment, tools and abrasive distributors) and to follow up on leads provided
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise and support to company/region Vice-Presidents, Operations Managers and Project Managers on coatings projects that are performed outside of the Coatings Division but within the company/region

Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communications skills, written and verbal
- Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in interpreting and applying company policies
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Projects and Visio
Education & Experience:
- 3 years in industrial paint and coatings work
- Experience in estimating and managing paint and coatings projects
- Knowledge of Industrial Facilities such as refineries, chemical and power plants and paper mills
