Qualifications and Detail about the Position
Summary:
Reporting to the Project Manager or Director of Project Controls, the Project Controls Manager will serve as the technical lead within for designated projects to sustain and improve project and contract performance by executing existing processes and practices to ensure Brock is able to manage and understand any variances from the budget and critical path. Supports building the Brock brand by providing world class service quality to all stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock’s Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business- Manage, review and advise on management system and asset tracking, coordinate with customer planners and schedulers, maintain job files, review billing, administer KPI program, coordinate project reporting, track cost to date and cost to complete metrics for all POs, and assist in project closeout.
- Collaborate with Brock and Customer Project Management teams to promote understanding and compliance with established protocols for the project
- Responsible for providing hands on technical and administrative leadership of the controls aspect on project.
- Responsible for all aspects of the integrity of project control, costing and reporting, ensuring data visibility for the business
- Compile and supports the baseline schedule. This includes tracking the schedule and completing Forensic Assessment for required diagnosis of schedule and cost.
- Manage special areas of work using construction execution plans. Forecast work including current commitments, estimated growth allowances, and work to complete.
- Execute plan, actual and forecast of the project progress and cost tracking. Tracks actual costs of the construction activities and compares them to the budgeted costs for each Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and report accordingly (Earned Value Management).
- Work with Project Manager on the change management process to incorporate changes into the contract.
- Incorporates estimating, cost and schedule data of proposals for project execution analysis.
- Assist in the Monthly Project Review Process along with publishing of project data reports as required.
- Audit ongoing operations and identifies opportunities for efficiencies and standardization of methods to improve project health.
- Leverage project controls processes and software according to the project lifecycle management
- The Project Controls Manager is the number one controller of field data collection and enforcement of project control policies and productivity for the worksite.
- Analyze collected data to drive continual improvement in our KPI’s and contract compliance.
- Utilize planning and scheduling tools to drive productivity improvements.
- Capture all site scheduling activities to ensure all craft resources are fully utilized and productivity is tracked.

BALANCING - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, on unprotected elevated surfaces using fall protection equipment; or maintaining body equilibrium when performing scaffold construction at elevations using fall protection equipment. Frequently - Activity exists up to 60% of the work shift.
STOOPING - Bending body downward and forward by bending at the waist, requiring full use of the leg and back muscles on a repetitive basis. Frequently - Activity exists up to 60% of the work shift.
KNEELING - Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Occasionally - Activity exists up to 40% of the work shift.
CROUCHING - Bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and waist. Frequently - Activity exists up to 60% of the work shift.
REACHING - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in order to receive materials from ground level weighing up to 50 pounds as it is being passed and 35 pounds from overhead. Frequently - Activity exists up to 60% of the work shift.
GRIPPING - Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands to receive materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling. Frequently - Activity exists up to 60% of the work shift.
VISION - Have 20/40 vision with or without correction in at least one eye.
HEARING - Must be able to hear a forced whispered voice in one ear, the better ear, at not less than five feet with or without the use of a hearing aid.
WEATHER EXPOSURE - Exposure to outside atmospheric conditions. Conditions can range from -10 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Constantly - Condition exists in excess of 60% of the work shift.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT - Must be able to properly do all required personal protective equipment for the requirements of the job for up to the entire work shift.
