POSITION SUMMARY :
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will oversee key financial functions, including forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and strategic financial projects. This role is integral to the organization's financial operations, serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership by delivering insightful analyses and recommendations. The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will be instrumental in driving data-informed decision-making through detailed financial reports, capital expenditure evaluations, industry comparisons, and other critical initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Examine historical and current trends across key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue, expenses, capital investments, and overall operational efficiency.
- Lead the enhancement and management of financial forecasting tools and budgeting processes.
- Design and refine financial models for complex revenue and expense streams to generate precise projections of financial and operational outcomes.
- Track and assess performance metrics, identify trends, investigate unexpected variances, and effectively communicate findings to senior leadership.
- Direct the annual budgeting process, collaborating with senior leaders to create realistic, measurable, and actionable budget policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to establish and track key financial and operational metrics, creating dashboard reports for leadership, deans, directors, and the Board of Trustees.
- Assist senior leadership, deans, and directors in creating financial and operational analyses to guide strategic initiatives, summarizing findings to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Evaluate detailed financial data and reports to deliver accurate and timely recommendations that guide management’s decision-making.
- Produce ad-hoc analyses and reports to meet organizational needs.
- Prepare and deliver presentations for the Board of Trustees and the Senior Leadership team as needed.
