Overview
The One Brooklyn Health Chair of Medicine will provide strategic leadership, direction, and coordination for the clinical and teaching components of Departments of Medicine while working collaboratively with clinical and administrative leadership to meet and exceed hospital clinical and business goals.
The Chair will maintain the highest quality of medical care for the Department while growing volume. Furthermore, the Chair will provide leadership, ensuring a high level of cooperation, communication among the staff, and will be responsible for promoting and maintaining excellence and integrity in quality and patient care by monitoring volume, clinical quality, operations improvements, residency programs, and financial performance of the Department. They will also work towards improving the health care of the community.
The Chair will be accountable for overall planning, directing, and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures for the Department of Medicine, ensuring the integration of scientifically based, outcome-evaluated clinical knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
Education:
- M.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited institution required.
Licenses, Certifications:
- Active Board Certification in Internal Medicine and/or relevant medical subspecialty required.
- Eligibility for permanent, unrestricted licensure in New York required.
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years of clinical leadership and three (3) years of teaching/academic experience.
- Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years medical experience and experience as a Unit or Specialty Head in a hospital or other health care facility.
