Job Title: Interior Design Assistant

Reports To: Senior Vice President of Design & Marketing

Job Purpose

The Interior Design Assistant works with the SVP of Design to assist in design specifications across BPG’s portfolio of properties, space planning, and project management.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Work with property and facility managers to provide design specifications for property upgrades

· Manage property standard specifications

· Complete conceptual space planning for prospective programming or tenants

· Complete renderings as needed for design presentations

· Assist in the completion of presentation material as needed

· Management of the design library

· Complete administrative tasks, such as invoice approvals, purchasing requests, and budget management.

· Assist in project management and tracking of milestones and deadlines for the design process on projects such as property capital upgrade projects, FFE projects for restaurant fit-outs, etc

· Attend design meetings and construction site walks for quality control

· Assist in furniture selections and coordination with the furniture procurement consultants

· Place orders and track deliveries for furniture and products needed for design implementation at a property

· Collaborate with the marketing department closely for marketing purposes, events, etc.

· Always seek new opportunities and ideas to further the department’s quality and scope of work, as well as your career growth within the department and company

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in AutoCadLT at minimum
  • Experience with Revit, Sketch-Up and any other rendering software a plus
  • Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Problem solving and analytical skills needed.
  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with associates, tenants, and any other parties.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Must be detail oriented and thorough in documentation and file management.
  • Must be able to work events outside of normal business hours if needed
  • Must be able to visit properties in the region on a regular basis.

Education·

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture, and/or a minimum of three years of experience in the design or decorating field.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires prolonged sitting.
  • Requires frequent operation of office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine, telephone, etc.
  • Occasional stretching and / or bending to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
