Title: Floor Technician
Hours: Sunday-Thursday;5:00 pm-2:00 am
Pay Rate: $15.00
Location: Private College academic building in Winston-Salem

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with arms and hands. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. The noise level is usually moderate.

- Cleans offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Knowledge of operating a propane buffer, super stripper, low speed, electric buffer carpet extractor, and automatic scrubber.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Assists in the completion of the workload in the absence of others.
- Assists in providing project cleaning of buildings which includes lifting and removing furniture from rooms, refinishing hard surface floors, shampooing carpets, cleaning blinds, light fixtures/shields, washing walls, windows, doors, and furniture.
- Operates various types of equipment and machinery, which include wet vacuums, hand trucks, vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, floor buffers, automatic scrubbers, etc.
- Reports any malfunctions and maintenance problems to the supervisor. Discusses work problems and/or schedule problems with supervisor and/or management.
- Provides assistance with any outside cleaning chores, which may include sweeping sidewalks, and picking up trash.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
