Hostess at the Bungalow Long Beach 22-hour plus tips

Conjured from the rich imagination of hospitality visionary Brent Bolthouse, The Bungalow radiates the relaxed charm of another era and mark’s The Bungalow brands second location in Southern California.
We are a cocktail lounge/bar with a 70’s California house party theme. We play beachy, mellow feel good music in the 70’s & 80’s genre. We have a DJ Thursday-Sunday, starting at 9:45pm, and Saturday & Sunday starting at 3pm. We are open 5 days a week, with last call at 1:30 and, closing at 2AM. We pride ourselves on being a destination full of amazing specialty cocktails, entertainment, and a welcoming team! As a hostess you are the face of The Bungalow, and your most important job is to ensure we greet and take care of all our guest!

Scope of Position:
The Bungalow Hostess will handle reservations and inquiries about the lounge/bar while recording all special requests and guest preferences in order to ensure our guests consistently enjoy a delightful dining experience. She will assist in the seating of guests and provide occasional assistance to guests in regard to Bottle Service/Menu items.

Organizational Structure:
The Hostess reports directly to the lead hostess and the management team.

Duties and Supporting Responsibilities:

• Accept accurate and complete reservations

• Answer the phone promptly using proper etiquette

• Assist and greet colleagues and guests in a professional and courteous manner

• Use guest names and communicate them to their fellow associates

  (Servers/Management)

• Assist in monitoring all guest needs and communicating them accordingly

• Restroom checks

• Inform managers when notable guests and regulars walk into the venue

• Customer Focus: The colleague is genuinely pleasant, positive and helpful to both guests and colleagues

• Confident, helpful and genuine with internal and external customers

• Anticipates guests’ needs and is sensitive to people from all cultures

• Is conscientious and always attentive to detail

• Goes the extra mile

• Has a natural, warm smile and a friendly and passionate approach

Requirements

Mandatory:

• 1-2 years’ previous experience as a hostess within a casual/bar, restaurant or lounge in a fast paced food and beverage setting

• Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal in the English language

• Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends and holidays

• Must have proper phone etiquette and have the upmost professional standards

• Maintain proper grooming standards, appearance and friendly demeanor

• Ability to handle multiple guest requests

• Must be 21 years or older .

• Must be able to lift 25 pounds

• Must be able to stay on your feet for shifts up to 8 hours.
