What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Cook position at The Buoy Shack?
We are looking for a Lead Cook to join our amazing team!
The job requirements are notated below, this person would be covering the chef's days off during peak season.
- Proven experience as a lead line cook or similar role in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Ability to effectively lead a team in a fast-paced work environment

- Oversee food production and ensure high-quality standards are met on Chefs’ days off.
- Maintain pars and order accordingly when covering days off.
- Ensure proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices are followed
- Maintain a clean, safe, stocked, and organized workstation according to company standards, health department regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Oversee shared kitchen team tasks including but not limited to cleaning and organizing, opening and closing the kitchen, receiving orders, etc.
- Fluid communication skills.
