Summary of Position :

We need someone willing to train as a busser and a food runner.

A busser is responsible for removing used tableware between courses; clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables after guests leave and filling up water glasses.

A food runner is responsible for supporting waitstaff in carrying beverages and meal items to designated tables. Duties include communicating with waiters to determine their needs, carrying food items from the expediting counter to the right table and helping with cleanup duties after the conclusion of service.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Deliver food and drink orders to customers quickly and accurately
• Uphold sanitation and food safety principles
• Bus tables by removing dirty dishes and trash
• Check in with customers to ensure their experience is satisfactory
• Relay reports of customer satisfaction to the management and relevant parties
• Ensure patrons have all the appropriate tableware they need to properly enjoy their food
• Assist setting up tables before service with appropriate utensils, napkins and decorations
• Handle various impromptu requests from customers
• Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.
• Clear tables after guests. Take tableware to dishpit and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
• Between seatings promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.
• Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed.
• Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.
• Communicate with server and host to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
• Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
• Thank guests as they are leaving
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

Qualifications :

• high school diploma
• 1 years of restaurant experience required.
• Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Must be able to multitask in order to ensure customers get their orders promptly
• Need to possess a high degree of organizational skills to easily locate tables and bar patrons to fulfill everyone’s orders
• Able to carry 35 pounds easily.
• Food Handler Certified or willing to acquire certification
• TABC certified
