Job Summary

Under the direction of the Associate Director for Personnel for Student Affairs, and with a dotted-line report to the Associate Vice President of Campus Health and Wellbeing , the Personnel Analyst is directly responsible for processing a broad range of personnel actions related to the development of job descriptions, recruitments, reassignments, position tracking, and assuring compliance with bargaining unit agreements. In collaboration with the Student Affairs Human Resources Business Partner, and other executive leaders, this position supports management in executing a portfolio of human resources actions as well as support for training and safety activities.

Department Summary

The purpose of Campus Health & Wellbeing is to help students achieve and maintain academic success and lifelong health and wellbeing by providing timely and appropriate primary and acute health care, disease and injury prevention education, professional mental health, outreach, educational services and campus consultations.

Key Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of administrative concepts, practices and procedures for researching, developing, and evaluating policies, procedures and programs, including data collection, evaluation and interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn to interpret, communicate and apply federal, state, California State University and university personnel policies, and collective bargaining agreements as they relate to recruitment, appointment, classification, and other personnel-related matters.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Demonstrated skill in modeling a culture of open and honest communication, respect, inclusion, integrity, balance, high achievement, and professionalism.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines. 
  • Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions using reasoning and judgment as well as an understanding of the impact on other areas.

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university.  One year of technical experience or administrative experience.  A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.  Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $60,000 - $75,000 Per Year

Classification Range: $46,549 - $89,856 Per Year
