Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Assistant to join our mental health team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess a diverse skill set to support various patient needs.
Responsibilities:
- Using computer applications
- Answering telephones
- Welcoming patients
- Scheduling appointments
- Arranging for partial hospitalization or hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records
- Coding and filling out insurance forms
- Deliver exceptional patient service with empathy and professionalism
- Familiarity with Theranest or similar electronic health record systems
- Support healthcare providers in specialized areas such as mental health and behavioral health

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred
- 2 years in a medical office setting
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Background Checks (FBI Fingerprints, Child Abuse, and Criminal History) upon hire
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
