About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and results-oriented Development Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in driving our fundraising success by managing key events, cultivating donor relationships, and supporting overall development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Management: Plan and execute four major fundraising events (Gala, Golf Outing, Spring Walk of Hope, Fall Walk of Hope), including:
- Developing event themes and logistics (invitations, sponsorships, auctions, entertainment, volunteer coordination).
- Managing event budgets and achieving fundraising goals.
- Overseeing event setup, including online platforms and peer-to-peer fundraising.
- Donor Relations:
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
- Manage donor database and track contributions.
- Write and send acknowledgment letters.
- Conduct prospect research to identify new funding opportunities.
- Fundraising Support:
- Develop and distribute fundraising materials (brochures, appeals, etc.).
- Assist with strategic planning for development initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on event promotion.
Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Strong belief in the mission of The Cancer Support Center.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in event fundraising, particularly for special events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and CRM software (Donorview preferred).
- Experience with online fundraising platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Canva).
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Preferred:
- Experience in the non-profit sector.
