What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing and Sales Assistant position at The Candleberry Candle Company?
The Candleberry Candle Company® is currently seeking a Smiling and Energetic Customer Service Representative to join our team and work together in performing various duties, including but not limited to sharing the responsibility of answering our phones daily and performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. To be successful in this position you should have a pleasant personality, as this is a customer service role. Multitasking skills are essential for this position.
New Product Development
Fragrance:
- Communicate with fragrance suppliers to request fragrances for each new season, boosts or improvements of fragrance, duplications of existing fragrance, etc.
- Communicate with Inventory Manager to get fragrance put into our wax for test burning (this may involve mixing multiple fragrances in multiple ratios)
- Test burn samples on occasion
- Utilize the current Fragrance Selection SOP to ensure it is an appropriate resource
- Keep SDS and EU SDS folders up to date as new fragrances are added.
- Update Product Offerings sheet by removing discontinued fragrances and adding new fragrances.
Marketing
Wholesale Catalog:
- Work with graphic designer(s), Sales Manager, and Brand Manager on 2 seasonal catalogs per year (updating and ensuring the accuracy of product offerings, fragrance notes/descriptions, order forms, etc.)
- Communicate with printer(s) around catalog printing lead time to ensure catalogs are ready for market
- Work with Brand Manager to plan and execute photography sessions; Organize content we receive from photographer to ensure all necessary parties have access
Sales
Manage Influencer Marketing & Private Labels:
- Acquire new influencers in key geographic locations with followers who match our target customer
- Manage influencer contracts and spend
- Facilitate product shipments to influencers
- Manage relationships with all private label customers to ensure their needs are met
- Work with our graphic designer(s) to create new private labels for customers
- Actively seek out potential new private label customers
- In-office customer service responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with customers and team members
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online a plus but not required
- Experience in customer service and sales
- Familiarity with B2B sales and account management
- Ability to conduct cold calling
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and business development practices
