Boot Camp Attendant Job Description
The Boot Camp attendant is the friendly face of The Canine Coach, running and managing safe, fun playgroups; maintaining cleanliness of the facility; providing the best care for the dogs, .
Job Responsibility
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to:
- Provide unmatched customer service/client satisfactions
- Required to be familiar with Boot Camp (BC) program specifics, i.e. closures, trainer schedules, manager information, checkouts, etc.
- Clearly communicate to the clients on their first day of Boot Camp the applicable policies (i.e. drop off times, check out reservation process, etc.)
- Ensure clients have signed up for a check out time on checkout days (Commonly Mondays and Fridays)
- Refer clients to their BC trainer for specific training questions
- Intake of dogs, providing a clean crate for dogs coming in
- Ensure dogs well-being
- Running and managing playgroups
- Open communication with Trainers
- Provide outstanding customer service/client happiness
- Uphold and maintain all Dogs well-being
- Time management, getting assigned dogs out efficiently and timely
- Open communication with team members
- Ability to read and follow Canine Coach internal policies and procedures
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day
- Walk up to two miles outside in a variety of weather conditions (heat, rain, snow, etc)
- Walk/potty dogs in heat index temperatures up to but not exceeding 100 F
- Ability to handle/control unruly dogs weighing 120 lbs.
- Ability to work with reactive and aggressive dogs
- Ability to hold a leash and handle/control leashed dogs of all sizes with confidence and control
- Ability to speak fluent English to/with teammates for up to 8 hours a day
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to bend and twist repetitively
- Ability to lift and move equipment/supplies up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain sanitation and facility cleanliness by utilizing necessary equipment, including vacuums, floor scrubbers, cleaning agents, dusters, etc.
- Ability to utilize laundry machines to clean required items needed to be laundered
- Other duties as assigned
Details
- Playgroups - Are formed by the trainers to ensure the staff and dogs safety. They should be played by which dogs get dropped off first. If a dog doesn’t get time to play let their trainer know and they will make sure the dog gets out.
- Limited to 1-2 dogs until trainers arrive (8 AM). This allows us to provide better customer service with new and current dogs coming in.
Manage playgroups with only the dogs that the trainers have setup. It is not the morning attendants’ job to introduce dogs to playgroups.
Schedule:
Monday12pm-6pm
Tuesday/Wednesday 1pm-6pm

Qualifications
- Kennel experience
- Animal handling and restraint skills
- Previous pet care or animal care experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Customer service skills
- Capability for heavy lifting
- Additional premium skills like dog training or veterinary experience are a plus
