The Canyon Sports Pub & Grill in Chula Vista, CA is your local neighborhood bar & grill that’s been serving up Good Food & Good Times since 1962! Security Guard / Bartender Jr. : This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate who has Security experience but wants to break into Bartending! We are looking for the ultimate experienced Security Guard to work the door Friday & Saturday Nights, then learn Bartending Sunday Night, Monday Mid Shift and Tuesday Night. The perfect candidate will have at least 2 years of Nightclub / Bar (Door Host) experience who knows how to be the ultimate host and can control any situation when necessary. This is a great position for someone who loves Hospitality, wants to learn a new skill set and move into Bartending. The ideal candidate will possess :
- Natural calm / cool attitude – hotheads need not apply.
- Possess a valid California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Guard License or be willing to attain one quickly.
- Know how to check I.D.’s to ensure patrons are of legal drinking age.
- Must have a flexible schedule.
- Reliable transportation.
- Be over the age of 21 and follow all security guard protocol without fail.
- Help service staff as necessary with glassware collection and table cleaning.
- Contribute fully to closing duties.
- And above all else, you MUST BE VERY FRIENDLY! Being bi-lingual in Spanish is good, too!
- We will train you to Bartend, if you’re the right candidate.
- Bartending Hourly : $16.50
- Security Hourly : Based on Experience
Available shifts and compensation : Available shifts all days except Wednesdays and Thursdays. Compensation is $16.50 - $20.00 / hour.
