Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to oversee our manufacturing operation and toolmaking. The Plant Manager will be responsible for managing the plant's operations, including production, tool development, safety and staffing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal working processes and a proven track record of leadership in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
- Oversee all aspects of production, including collaboration and execution of the schedule, capacity planning, and workflow optimization to meet production targets and customer demands.
- Implement and monitor production KPIs to ensure efficiency and productivity goals are met.
- Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to drive cost savings and quality improvements.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Involvement in implementing safety training programs for plant personnel.
Staffing and Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and develop a skilled workforce to meet production requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to plant staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to employees.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements to maximize profitability.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and implement corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field experience.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metal working related, with at least 10 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of metal working processes and equipment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing production operations, meeting production targets, and driving continuous improvement.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage budgets and financial performance.
