The Cardiac and Vascular Institute (TCAVI) Ambulatory Surgery Center is a brand new state of the art outpatient surgery center. We are looking for a dynamic team member that can join us in putting our patient's health, safety and quality outcomes first.
We are a standalone ASC specializing in both interventional and diagnostic heart procedures, implantable devices (PM, ICD'S), peripheral arterial disease as well as other vascular interventional procedures. We Operate Monday through Friday 7 : 30AM to 5 : 00PM with no weekends and 7 paid holidays. We currently have 17 cardiologist and vascular surgeons that operate out of our space and we are growing this complement every day. This is a 10-hour day shift position with flexible days off.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES : An Ambulatory Surgery Center ASC RCIS / Radiology Tech RT (R) / Cath Lab Technologist follows established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines; and delivers care to patients pre, intra, and post procedure. The RCIS / RT performs and documents patient assessments and flow of procedures, identifies and reports situations requiring intervention, communicates goals and plan of care, assures patient rights.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Age appropriate assessment of patients pre, during, and post procedures;
- IV insertion and maintenance.
- Phlebotomy
- EKG performance and interpretation.
- Perform CLIA waived tests and controls.
- Verifies / documents accurate list of patient's current medications and allergies.
- Assists in all aspects of all procedures : recording, scrubbing, circulating, equipment operation.
- Operation of imaging equipment, recording and hemodynamic monitoring equipment, cine capture and archiving equipment, image review stations.
- Operate Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump.
- Maintain arterial pressure lines.
- Check, test, and maintain imaging equipment in Invasive Services area and report findings to the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).
- Knowledge of and practices concept of "ALARA".
- Proficient in vascular access site sheath removal and assessment.
- Ordering and stocking.
- Education / Precepting of new hires.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED : Reports to the Lead Technologist, Ambulatory Surgery Center Manager, and / or Director of Interventional Services
EDUCATION : Graduation from an accredited CVT program.
EXPERIENCE : One year previous cardiac Cath lab experience highly desirable.
REQUIREMENTS : RCIS / or RT certification within 18 months of employment. Current and ongoing BLS and ACLS certification.
