Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, engaging them in conversation and activities.
- Monitor and document changes in clients' physical and emotional conditions through patient observation.
- Maintain a clean and organized living space for clients, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Support clients with mobility issues, including transferring them safely from bed to wheelchair or other locations.
- Administer medication as prescribed and assist with any necessary medical equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, disabilities, or those requiring hospice care.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as social work or home health is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with long-term care practices and patient observation techniques is advantageous.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures is beneficial for ensuring client safety.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or providing hospice care will be considered an asset.
