Live-in Caregiver

Overview
The In Home Caregiver plays a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals in their homes. This position is essential for supporting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Caregivers work closely with clients to promote independence while delivering high-quality care tailored to each individual's needs.

Duties

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
• Monitor and document vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are reported to healthcare professionals.
• Administer medications and assist with medical equipment as directed by healthcare providers.
• Facilitate mobility by helping clients move around safely within their home environment.
• Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition according to dietary needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
• Observe and report any changes in client behavior or health status to family members or healthcare professionals.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy and confidentiality.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of patient care techniques, including hospice care and long-term care practices.
• Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and patient observation methods.
• Experience in nursing home or group home settings is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to follow care plans accurately while being adaptable to changing client needs.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
