The Carlyle Group seeks to hire an Associate within the AlpInvest Secondaries & Portfolio Finance team.

Secondary & Portfolio Finance Investments Team Overview
The Secondary & Portfolio Finance Investments team focuses on acquiring pools of existing private equity assets and providing capital solutions across the private equity ecosystem. AlpInvest is a market leader in complex opportunities requiring innovative equity (secondary spin-outs, fund restructurings, secondary directs, etc.) and credit solutions (NAV loans, GP financing solutions, LP interest finacings, and credit secondaries). The team has committed over $34Bn across 225 transactions since inception.
Associates are key members of the investment team working in a flat team environment directly with senior investment professionals. Associates work across both the Secondaries Program and the Portfolio Finance Program (ASPF) and are responsible for due diligence, analysis and developing an initial and independent view of each investment.
Responsibilities
The candidates will most likely be trained Analysts/Associates with a minimum of 2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, private credit / direct lending, or similar setting, with exposure to a wide range of transactions, industry studies, valuation work and due diligence assignments. Bachelor’s Degree required. Successful candidates will be team players with the confidence to interact with all levels of an organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
Review of investment opportunities
Leadership role in due diligence meetings and other team initiatives
Responsibility for financial modeling including:
Detailed company-level analysis and underpinning for businesses in diverse industries
Fund-level cash flow structuring
Credit-like cash flow structuring related to funds / GP management companies and LP portfolios
Preparation of due diligence requests and investment proposals
Monitor performance of investments including attending advisory board and General Partner meetings
Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Knowledge & Experience:
Familiarity with structuring and execution of leveraged buyouts
Experience with due diligence process and analysis
A keen interest in understanding the fundamentals of different industries
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advanced financial modeling capability
Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to New York and takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000.
In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs. Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
