The Fund Management (FM) team is responsible for the operations of Carlyle's investment funds. FM serves as a strategic partner to Carlyle's investment teams ("the business") and brings a broad skillset focused on financial oversight, execution, and operational excellence. The FM team 1) partners with segment and fund leadership in setting strategic direction and supporting decision-making, with a focus on financial and executional matters; 2) works closely with the business to ensure strong risk management, seamless execution and sustained high performance; 3) connects the business to broader firm resources to maximize efficiency and collaboration across Carlyle; 4) supports the business and investor relations teams in managing and growing investor relationships; and 5) brings a combined finance and operations mindset to managing risk, compliance and performance.

Position Summary
This position will represent the Fund Management product lead for Carlyle Private Equity Partners ("CPEP"), a semi-liquid fund that will invest across Carlyle's global private equity platform. CPEP is expected to launch in the second half of 2025. The individual in this role with lead and oversee key fund management functions, including monthly portfolio valuations, transaction execution, liquidity management, reporting, fundraising support, and oversight of third-party service providers. This person will work closely with CPEP's investment and investor relations teams; and will regularly collaborate with internal stakeholders including Partnership Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Legal, and Tax.
Responsibilities
Monthly Portfolio Valuations (Estimated 50%)
Review and assess financial valuations of portfolio companies prepared by global deal teams
Partner with stakeholders to resolve valuation-related issues and ensure consistent reporting
Coordinate with the Corporate Accounting Valuation Team to manage monthly valuation deliverables
Lead the preparation and prioritization of monthly valuation materials for valuation committee meetings and internal reporting
Operations (Estimated 25%)
Manage liquidity and cash flow by monitoring global investment pipelines and collaborating with the CPEP Investment Team, as well as CPEP's third-party fund administrator and transfer agent, to align capital inflows and outflows
Lead transaction execution - including new investments, exits, and restructurings - by coordinating with stakeholders such as Global FM, Partnership Accounting, fund counsel, and tax teams
Oversee funds flow, settlement processes, and related documentation
Reporting (Estimated 10%)
Oversee the preparation and delivery of monthly reporting packages for CPEP's distribution partners, in coordination with CPEP leadership and product specialists
Coordinate with Partnership Accounting to manage CPEP's regulatory reporting requirements, including monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc SEC filings
Support the preparation of annual fund operating budgets by developing revenue and expense projections; perform quarterly budget-to-actual variance analysis
Investment and IR Teams Support (Estimated 10%)
Prepare data analyses and performance commentary for CPEP leadership
Generate and manage key performance metrics and respond to detailed data requests on a monthly and ad hoc basis
Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Investor Relations and external counsel to support ongoing fundraising efforts, including the preparation of marketing materials and due diligence responses
Other Responsibilities (Estimated 5%)
Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to support operational and regulatory requirements
Liaise with Partnership Accounting and Transfer Agent teams to support oversight of third-party service providers
Coordinate with European colleagues, as needed, on the administration of CPEP's sister fund, which is registered in Luxembourg and offered to international investors
Qualifications
Education & Certificates
Bachelor's degree required
Concentration in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field preferred. Equivalent relevant work experience may be considered
Professional Experience
7 years of relevant experience required
Prior experience in financial services, private equity, fund operations or valuations preferred
Competencies & Attributes
Strong understanding of valuation methodologies and financial modeling
Advanced Excel skills, ability to analyze and model cash flows
Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently engage with investment professionals and cross-functional teams
Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; consistently produces high-quality work
Team-oriented with a proactive mindset; seeks opportunities to improve processes and add value
High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
Experience interacting with accounting firms and/or regulators on valuation topics is a plus
Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, DC and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000.

Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
