Position Summary:
The Vice President will play a critical leadership role within Carlyle's Global Private Equity (GPE) group, supporting the continued build-out and strategic expansion of the Carlyle Private Equity Partners (CPEP) platform-a global evergreen private equity strategy targeting retail investors. This individual will drive investment diligence, portfolio construction, cross-functional coordination, Carlyle balance sheet structuring considerations, fundraising / marketing, and team development efforts. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical rigor, sound judgment, and a track record of execution in private equity or a related investment environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and refine the portfolio analytics framework to track performance across individual investments, integrating insights from internal and external sources.
- Oversee and enhance the fund-level CPEP model, sensitivities, liquidity management, and scenario analyses, ensuring strategic insights and decision support for senior leadership.
- Partner with Carlyle's Global Research & Investment Strategy team to shape multi-asset portfolio positioning and macro-driven investment theses.
- Collaborate to devise best practices with structuring, balance sheet, and other considerations to optimize investor performance
- Work collaboratively with existing CPEP team on product formation, US and International fund launches and structuring efforts to create new business at Carlyle
- Serve as a key liaison with the investor relations and product strategy teams to support client communications, marketing efforts, and fundraising initiatives with data-driven content.
- Maintain in-depth competitor analysis (e.g., BXPE, KKR Prime, Apollo AAA Series) and recommend enhancements to strengthen CPEP's competitive positioning globally.
- Mentor and manage junior team members, fostering development and supporting a high-performing team culture.
- Support strategic planning, operational scale-up, and ongoing refinement of the CPEP business model in collaboration with senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in portfolio management, multi-asset risk management, private equity, investment banking, asset management, or a related financial services environment
- Strong modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with experience managing fund-level economics and portfolio reporting
- Demonstrated ability to lead deal processes, coordinate across functional teams, and influence outcomes
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Collaborative and team-oriented with experience mentoring junior professionals
- Bachelor's degree required
Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to New York and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary for this role is $250,000.

Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
