Assistant Accounts Payable Director
The Carmelite System is a multi-state not-for-profit senior living organization sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged & Infirm. The Carmelite Sisters operate a network of skilled nursing facilities throughout the United States.
We are seeking to hire an Assistant Accounts Payable Director for a fully-remote role within our finance department supporting multiple senior living facilities throughout the United States.
- This is a remote job.
- $65K to $70K annually based on skills and experience.
Assistant Accounts Payable Director Introduction: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to support and oversee the accounts payable department. This role involves supervising daily operations, ensuring compliance with financial policies, assisting in the management of vendor relationships, and contributing to the strategic direction of the department.
Assistant Accounts Payable Director Qualifications:
- High School diploma required. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, preferred.
- 5 years of experience in A/P or accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Acumatica) and MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
- Experience managing multiple facilities simultaneously, preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and automation tools for accounts payable processes, preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
Assistant Accounts Payable Director Job Summary:
- Assist the Accounts Payable Director in overseeing the daily operations of the accounts payable department.
- Supervise and train accounts payable staff, providing guidance and support in resolving issues and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Review and approve invoice batches, ensuring proper coding, authorization, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Manage vendor relationships, including resolving discrepancies, negotiating payment terms, and handling inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including maintaining proper documentation and records for audit purposes.
- Develop and implement process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance the efficiency of the accounts payable function.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable and cash flow management.
