The Executive Director serves as the chief executive of a non profit organization and is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of the organization. Reporting to an elected Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee staff, execute strategic initiatives, plan events, and ensure the organization’s mission is effectively carried out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with the mission and goals set by the Board of Directors.
  • Provide visionary leadership to staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to enhance the organization’s impact and sustainability.
  • Operational & Team Management:
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure efficiency in program execution and service delivery.
  • Recruit, manage, and support a team of employees and volunteers to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes innovation and professional growth.
  • Event Planning & Community Engagement:
  • Plan and execute impactful events that align with the organization's mission and engage community members, stakeholders, and donors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners, sponsors, and local government entities.
  • Financial Oversight & Fundraising:
  • Develop and manage the organization’s budget in partnership with the Board’s finance committee.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor relations, and sponsorship development.
  • Ensure financial stability and compliance with nonprofit regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Board Relations & Governance:
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and the organization’s staff and programs.
  • Provide regular reports on organizational performance, financial health, and strategic progress.
  • Support Board development and assist in governance, ensuring compliance with bylaws and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit or relevant sector.
  • Strong background in strategic planning, event management, and community engagement.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant writing, and financial management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a Board of Directors, staff, and external partners.
