With our continued growth, The Carpenter Health Network is ready to add a Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist to our team!
The Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist primary function is to credential practitioners and allied health professionals to the hospitals medical staff through verification of professional licenses, training, education, and certifications. The Credentialing Specialist works closely with hospital medical staff, hospital administrators, and reports to the Corporate Director of Revenue Cycle/Health Information Management.
Responsibilities:
- Processing initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications for appointment to hospital medical staff.
- Reviews practitioners applications and supporting documentation to determine completeness including education, training, license verifications and references.
- Serves as main point of contact for practitioners during application process.
- Monitors expiring licenses and credentials.
- Ensures credentialing database is maintained and current at all times.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing files.
- Prepares reports to Medical Staff Committee meetings.
- Demonstrates an understanding of State and CMS credentialing regulatory standards.
Job Requirements and Skills:
- High school diploma
- 2 years of credentialing experience with hospital medical staff, preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel and credentialing databases for data entry and maintenance.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently.
