Many of the world’s leading architects, designers, and builders have relied on The Case Group to build windows, doors, and glass walls for high-end residences.
This facility, based in Cohoes, NY, currently employees 36 employees and seeking to expand it's workforce.
Summary/objective
The Architectural Woodworker will be involved with the measuring, cutting, machining, and fabrication of various fixtures and millwork of customized windows, doors, and glass walls in a variety of materials and profiles. The Architectural Woodworker will perform finish and trim work according to plans and specifications. The position requires an organized individual who is motivated and able to work both independently and with a team on multiple tasks and deadlines. The position is expected to provide help with lifting, moving, loading, unloading of raw materials and finished products as needed. This position will report to the Head of Production.

General Functions:
· Accurately measures, cuts, and installs various fixtures and millwork for windows and doors.
· Collaborates with team members and supervisors to complete projects.
· Identifies production issues and solutions to present to Head of Production.
· Works closely with Quality Control throughout the production process.
· Occasionally travels to a project site to complete work repairs.
· Follows established company’s method of standards.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Rough Room:
· Breaks down raw materials into dimensional parts for further machining.
· Accurately tracks cut pieces and records consumed materials for optimization of materials.
· Laminates boards together using a lamination press.
CNC:
· Operates CNC safely and efficiently using programming provided by CAD Supervisor.
· Accurately determines any defects on designated pieces prior to machining.
· Troubleshoots any machine repairs needed.
Machining & Assembly:
· Determines methods of work to accomplish details of CAD drawings for maximum efficiency.
· Prepares workpieces for assembly with the use of power and hand tools.
· Completes dry fit, assembles, and verifies dimensions of product for the final assembly using various adhesives for fasteners.
· Performs finish and trim carpentry work according to plans and specifications.
Hardware:
· Prepares doors, sashes, and frames for hardware prior to the last steps of sanding and finish spraying.
· Affixes hardware to finished product with care and precision.
· Hangs completed units in a mock-up to ensure smooth operation prior to shipping.
· Identifies all hardware materials needed for each project for Head of Production.
· Collaborates with Quality Control for proper operation of installed hardware.
Glazing:
· Fits glass panes into sashes with the use of handheld and or boom/crane suspended suction cups.
· Supports glass with shims and then installs glass stops with precision.
· Uses a variety of caulks, adhesives or gaskets, glaze windowpanes to ensure a water-tight seal and attractive appearance.
Competencies/Skills & Experience
· Troubleshooting and communication skills required.
· Exceptional attention to detail.
· Prior experience or training in trim carpentry or finish carpentry preferred.
· Experienced operating equipment including forklift, overhead crane, Hubtex and scissor lift.
· Ability to use standard woodworking equipment (jointer, planer, molder, shaper, saws, carpentry trade tools).
· CNC experience a plus.
· Proficient in ability to read technical/CAD drawings.
· Metric System experience.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
· Must have manual dexterity to assemble products.
· Proper use of PPE required.

Required education and experience
· Preferably a Trade School graduate or minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
· Experience working in manufacturing a plus.
· Minimum one year of applied experience, preferably in the architecture or construction fields.
