What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jai Alai Judge/Referee position at The Casino @ Dania Beach?
Part Time Temporary - December 2022-January 2023
What you will be doing
- Reports one (1) hour before scheduled games.
- Parades from judge’s quarters.
- Officiates as game progresses.
- Remains on court until correct/official results are posted.
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate for this position
- High school diploma preferred.
- Prior experience judging or jai alai experience strongly preferred.
- Must possess current and thorough knowledge of jai alai rules of game.
- Must possess thorough knowledge of State of Florida rules and regulations.
- Must be able to stay out of jai-alai game and not interfere. Requires the ability to run, walk, bend, and catch jai-alai balls.
- Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to communicate clearly, in a professional and friendly manner with managers, guests, and other personnel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
- Must be able to handle a fast-paced, busy environment and remain calm and professional under stressful situations.
- Must wear required uniform and safety equipment.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to obtain the appropriate state occupational license.
