Job Title: Group New Business Submissions Case Manager
Division: Group Benefits
Location: Columbia, SC
Type: Full-Time; May be eligible for hybrid work schedule after successful completion of training
Hiring Range: $39,000 - $50,000 annual salary (commensurate with directly applicable experience)
Commitment: Two-Year Commitment to The Cason Group
Our Group Benefits New Business Department provides case oversight and support by assuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of group application submissions to respective insurance carriers. As a Group Case Manager, you will submit fully completed and accurate group applications and necessary documents to insurance carrier underwriters in accordance with carrier requirements and timelines.
What Our Group Case Managers Do:
- Coordinate and Communicate: determine group eligibility based upon specific variables and type of coverage applied for; build and maintain positive working relationships while facilitating communication between agents and carriers throughout the underwriting process; identify and resolve agent and/or carrier concerns
- Organize and Process: review insurance and tax documents for completeness; submit completed cases to the designated carrier for underwriting approval and/or to obtain an offer for the agent; enter submitted case information into internal case database; follow assigned cases during submission process to ensure timely action
- Engage as Team Player: maintain exceptional relationships with team members; provide on-the-job training for new employees
What We Are Looking For:
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience in the insurance industry
- Appropriate licensure or ability to secure and maintain licensure through training
- Ability to learn and retain detailed information of carriers underwriting guidelines, waiting periods, and other matters related to new case submission processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy along with compliance of deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer services skills; ability to secure support and cooperation with others
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel); knowledge of databases is desired
