What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Assistant - St. Stephen Catholic School position at The Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg?
ROLE: The role of the Part-Time Instructional Assistant is to provide instructional support services to teachers and students. This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.
DUTIES: The duties of the assistant are many and varied. Assistants work under the direction and supervision of the principal, assistant principal, and teacher with whom they are assigned.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Any duties assigned by the classroom teacher with whom they are assigned to work.
- Assist with attendance and classroom routines
- Reinforce lessons, concepts, and skills one-on-one with students or in small groups
- Assume responsibility for students should it be necessary for the teacher to leave the classroom
- Help keep classroom clean and orderly
- Shared recess duty
- Supervise students during lunch; maintaining appropriate behaviors, orderly routines, directing student clean-up duties, maintaining a clean orderly environment.
Candidates must successfully complete a Level II background screening.
