What are the responsibilities and job description for the PreK Part-Time Teacher 2025-2026 St. Raphael Catholic School position at The Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg?
Employment Opportunity: St. Raphael Catholic School seeks a Part-Time VPK Teacher who is positive, creative, caring, and energetic to instruct our PreK students for the 2025-2026 school year. The candidate will collaborate with the ECC Director and the other teachers and assistants to support students’ learning journey.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or associate degree in education or related field preferred. A bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field, with at least 6 credit hours in early childhood education.
- Must have 40 hours DCF training, plus 5 hours of literacy.
- Meet background-screening requirements as dictated by Child Care Licensing and Diocese.
- Prior experience working with PreK children in an educational or catholic setting preferred.
- Ability to lead a variety of daily activities to engage children.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain a classroom environment based on respect and that reflects the values and mission of St. Raphael Catholic School.
- Always promote the safety and care of children.
- Supervise the playground area.
- Accurately assess student learning through formative and summative assessment and effectively adapt instruction based on these assessments.
- Keep accurate records, ensuring that students are progressing and monitoring progress through progress reports and report cards.
- Meet with parents to discuss any concerns or issues with children’s progress and learning.
- Collaborate with the principal, grade level teachers, and assistants for the success of the program.
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a Level II background screening.
