What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds/ Maintenance Tech position at The Cedars?
- General maintenance repairs
- Responsible for Grounds maintenance
- Assist in minor plumbing tasks as well as electric, carpentry, and snow removal.
- Responsible for the daily repair and upkeep of the property.
- Responsible for inspections of all maintenance related items pertaining to a nursing care facility.
- Responsible for reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents.
- Responsible for maintaining the required property uniform and always insuring a professional appearance and attitude.
- Responsible for courteous, efficient responses at all times-including being on an on-call basis for maintenance emergencies.
- Be aware of and always operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Responsible for thorough knowledge of management company policies and property community policies.
- Must take On-call rotation for after hours emergency maintenance.
- Other job duties assigned per supervisor or Director of Facilities request

Qualifications for All Maintenance Technicians
- High school Diploma or equivalent. Need to be able to speak and read English.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and lift intermittently during the day.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
- Must be able and willing to work harmoniously with staff and residents.
- Must be willing and able to work from various ladder heights and at heights up to 40 feet above ground.
- Must be willing and able to work within non- permit confined spaces.
- Must be able to endure weather extremes.
- Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform required tasks.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA standards
- Valid drivers' license
