What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping and Laundry Worker position at The Cedars?
24 Hours per Week Working in The Laundry and Housekeeping
8 hour shifts Weekday and 4 hour shift on Saturdays and Sundays (Rotating Weekends)
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing.
- Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards
- Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace and refill chemicals.
- Gather laundry around facility. Run washers and dryers, then fold and return to correct location.
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
- Other job duties assigned per supervisor
Qualifications
Desirable:
- High school diploma or equivalency. Must be able to read and write English.
- Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 pounds)
- Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking
- Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies.
- Able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
- Manual dexterity and mobility.
- Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- May be exposed to patient demands and to frequent interruptions which may require rescheduling of cleaning activities.
