What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Supervisor position at The Celeste Hotel?
Assist the Front Desk Manager in managing guest service operations. Provide excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous and professional manner. Supervise daily operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Organize, confirm, process, and conduct guest check-ins/check-outs, room reservations, requests, changes, and cancellations.
- Ability to direct and maintain productivity levels.
- Performs Front Desk employee evaluations.
- Accommodate groups to ensure optimal levels of guest satisfaction and repeat business.
- Share knowledge and information about hotel amenities and local area with guests. Identify and explain room features to guests; Supply guests/residents with directions and information regarding property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities
- Act as a shift supervisor to ensure all daily functions of the check-in and check-out process are being completed at an optimal level.
- Follow up on any outstanding requests or problems from the previous day and are resolved.
- Print contingency lists to have a record of all guests in case of emergency.
- Working closely and cohesively with other department.
- Accept and record wake-up call requests and deliver to appropriate department; respond to special requests from guests with unique needs and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
- Secure payment for reservations; verify and adjust billing when necessary. Process all payment types, adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges; provide change.
- Review shift logs/daily memo books and document pertinent information in logbooks. Receive, record, and relay messages accurately, completely, and legibly.
- Responsible for using Marriott's LEARN and guest recovery models while maintaining good guest rapport.
- Notify Loss Prevention/Security of any guest reports of theft. Properly document incidents pertaining to property, automobile, or general liability claims.
- Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of two-years front desk experience and two years of prior Hospitality supervisory experience required.
- Convey information and ideas to others in a convincing and engaging manner through a variety of methods.
- Maintain performance level under pressure or when experiencing changes or challenges in the workplace.
- Minimum lifting of 30lbs.
- Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching.
- Some exposure to cleaning chemicals.
- Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
