Job Purpose Statement
The Center for Children and Families is seeking a dedicated and qualified Community Support Specialist to provide non-clinical support services focused on rehabilitation, resiliency, and recovery for children and families. This role is designed to enhance community living skills, promote integration, and support recovery efforts within agency policies and priorities. The Community Support Specialist will work closely with program staff and provide assistance to the Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisors as needed.

Through personalized, non-clinical support, you help them navigate daily challenges, reinforcing strategies for resilience and stability. Required Qualifications
The Community Support Specialist should have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Certified as a PCCSS (Provisional Certified Community Support Specialist) or CCSS (Certified Community Support Specialist) through the MS Department of Mental Health – OR – if other qualifications are met, the agency will provide certification for the candidate.
- No formal education requirements, relevant degrees preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities.
- Knowledge and understanding of word processing programs, email, and the internet.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of family dynamics and issues affecting families in crisis.
- Ability to facilitate both group and individual services for CFCF clients and families.
- High standard of personal integrity and work ethic.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to the Core Values and Mission of The Center for Children and Families.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
- Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) as required by the program.
- Initiate contact with families and provide specific, measurable, individualized support services.
- Maintain contact with assigned caseload in compliance with program requirements.
- Enhance natural supports for families by providing rehabilitation and resiliency services.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with therapists regarding client progress.
- Participate in weekly supervision and team meetings to discuss case updates.
- Attend staff meetings and assist in program evaluation.
- Complete case notes and summary forms weekly.
- Participate in peer file review and obtain necessary client signatures as requested.
- Complete all required training.
- Attend trainings, seminars, and meetings as requested by the Program Director/Supervisor.
- Participate in performance evaluations as directed by the Clinical Director.
- Provide assistance to the Clinical Director/Clinical Supervisors as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
