What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Services Coordinator position at The Center for Children?
The Center for Children with Special Needs (CCSN) is looking to hire a full-time Patient Services Coordinator to join our Administrative team in providing receptionist and telephone support. The position will be located in CCSN's Glastonbury, CT office and be a full-time role, working 4-days during the week and Saturdays. During the M-F week, CCSN is open from 7:30am - 6:30pm and Saturdays open from 7:30am - 3:00pm. Your specific shift would be assigned in consultation with the hiring manager.
This position would be a key member of CCSN's administrative team and assist in all receptionist functions at the Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Support patient scheduling
- Operating in highly-collaborative environment, partnering with clinical and administrative colleagues
- Provide primary phone coverage to assist with patient arrivals and pick-up
- Collaborate with other administrative team members on coordination across tasks
- Maintain sensitive patient materials in compliance with legal standards (including HIPAA compliance)
- Maintaining call logs of communications with patients and clinicians
- Assist Administrative Team Lead with special projects / other tasks as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Experience working in a high-call volume medical receptionist setting
- Courteous and professional on the phone with incoming calls
- Proficiency with VoIP-based phone systems that includes answer, transferring, and routing calls to appropriate parties
- Ability to multitask and operate in a fast-paced environment
Desired Experience:
- Experience working with ABA practices strongly desired
- Experience with EMR (CCSN uses CentralReach) strongly preferred, although training will be provided
- Prior experience working as a medical receptionist desired
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work at computer for extended periods of time
