Position : Sr. Accountant
Location : Hybrid, Cleveland, Ohio
About the Role :
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the organization’s financial operations and reporting. This individual contributor role involves processing, preparing, and monitoring financial activities while contributing to budgeting, financial analysis, and internal control initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Financial Operations : Process financial transactions, including Accounts Payable (A / P) and Accounts Receivable (A / R). Prepare accurate financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and financial analyses. Ensure compliance with GAAP for all financial transactions and reporting. Prepare, update, and monitor budgets and financial projections to support organizational goals.
- Monitoring & Analysis : Prepare & monitor budget performance to actual to ensure alignment with financial objectives. Assist in designing and implement internal control systems to efficiency. Monitor and report on cash and investment activities, ensuring transparency and compliance with organizational policies.
- Specialized Accounting Tasks : Prepare grant and event budgets and oversee related reporting processes. Prepare reports for corporate taxes, state payroll, and entity registrations to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Provide backup support for payroll processing. Reconcile revenue recognition activities to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance. Support corporate audit, 5500 filings, and workers’ compensation audits.
- Collaboration and Technology : Leverage financial systems and technology to optimize operational efficiency and improve reporting capabilities. Support fractional teams to achieve financial strategies and organizational objectives. Provide financial expertise and support for new company growth and expansion.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Assist in preparing financial presentations for the Board and various corporate committees. Provide data and analysis to support strategic decision-making and financial planning efforts.
