Infection Control & Education LPN / RN Responsibilities : The Infection Control & Education LPN / RN oversees infection prevention initiatives and staff education programs to ensure a safe and compliant healthcare environment. This role collaborates with clinicians, administrators, and regulatory agencies to drive continuous quality improvement in infection control and staff training.
Infection Control Responsibilities :
Develop, implement, and maintain infection prevention programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Conduct surveillance, data analysis, and reporting of infection trends to improve patient and staff safety.
Utilize epidemiological principles and statistical methods to evaluate infection prevention and control strategies.
Coordinate with the Infection Prevention and Control Committee to set objectives and assess program effectiveness annually.
Perform regular risk assessments, considering patient demographics, regional health concerns, and emerging infectious diseases.
Ensure timely reporting of communicable diseases to the appropriate health authorities.
Develop and enforce policies and procedures to maintain high standards of infection control.
Organize and document Infection Prevention and Control Committee meetings.
Education Responsibilities :
Develop and deliver educational programs on infection prevention and control for staff, physicians, and community partners.
Lead orientation and annual training sessions for employees on best practices in infection control and patient safety.
Stay updated on evolving regulations and guidelines from CMS, CDC, APIC, and other agencies to ensure compliance.
Serve as a resource and mentor for staff, providing ongoing education and support on infection control measures.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement in infection prevention and patient care.
Requirements :
Registered Nurse (RN) : Must have a current RN license in the state of Vermont.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) : Must have a current LPN license in the state of Vermont and previous experience in infection prevention and education to qualify.
Strong knowledge of infection control standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Experience in healthcare education and staff training preferred.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
