As The CORE Institute continues to grow, we are looking for a Surgery Scheduler in our Corporate office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Coordinates schedules of multiple resources, including outside facilities (i.e. providers, physical resources and clinical staff schedules).
- Gathers pertinent information from insurance carriers, physicians to make certain the patient’s financial Obligation for services.
- Call patients to schedule surgery within 48 hours of being entered into referral plus by the medical assistant and schedule all pre-op and post-op appointments for the patient.
- Provides ongoing communication with patient regarding pre-certification, authorization, financial counseling and scheduling process.
- During financial counseling session, collects patients’ responsibility via telephone or instructs patient to bring required payment to their Pre-op appointment.
- Communicates clinical instructions needed for appointments / procedures.
- Updates system for any changes or additions to schedule.
- Accurately updates patient information in the practice management system and EMR.
- Ensures that cancelled appointments and related ancillary appointments are cancelled and communicated to all stakeholders.
- Initiate authorization for surgery in a timely manner. Obtain authorization for surgery at least 48 hours prior to procedure. If authorization is not obtained within 48 hours of procedure, make plans to reschedule procedure.
