What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Protective Services Supervisor position at The Center for Prevention of Abuse?
Adult Protective Services Supervisor – Full Time, On Call Required, 8am - 4pm, Monday-Friday.
The Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA) is seeking a passionate individual to join our team as an Adult Protective Services Supervisor at our main campus in Peoria. Our mission at CFPA is to help all people – women, men, and children, live free from violence and abuse, and the caseworkers in our Adult Protective Services department play an important role in fulfilling that mission.
The APS Supervisor is in charge of overseeing the daily service delivery of aspects of CFPA’s Adult Protective Services program. The program provides services to seniors 60 years and older and adults living with disabilities ages 18-59 who have been abused, neglected, or financially exploited, within the counties of Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Fulton, Marshall, and Stark.
Primary job responsibilities include guiding, supporting, and sharing responsibility for the APS caseworkers’ decisions and actions, reviewing and assigning cases, assessing cases, and assuring supervisory consultation on cases. This position must also monitor APS caseworkers’ Illinois Department on Aging documentation quality and compliance, maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports, and ensure confidentiality.
Preferred education of bachelor’s degree in health, social sciences, social work, health care administration, gerontology, or criminal justice with one year experience in health and human services. Must have basic computer skills, work well as a team and as an individual, and have exceptional soft skills.
At CFPA, we believe everyone deserves peace – every day, everywhere, any time – at home, in the workplace, at school, and out in the community.
A pioneer in providing services to victims of violence, CFPA has grown from a single rape crisis hotline that started in 1975 to a highly respected statewide leader in working to end abuse and break the cycle of generational violence. CFPA is the only agency in the entire state sanctioned to provide its combined services of Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse/Assault, Human Trafficking, Adult Protective Services, and Prevention Education under one roof. CFPA operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and all victim services are free and confidential.
