Medical and Legal Advocacy Supervisor – Full Time, Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm, On Call/Remote
The Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA) is seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as the Medical and Legal Advocacy Supervisor. Our mission at CFPA is to help all people live free from violence and abuse, and our Medical and Legal Advocacy Supervisor is essential in bringing that mission to life.
The Medical and Legal Advocacy Supervisor coordinates and provides 24-hour crisis intervention, advocacy, and referrals to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their families. The Medical and Legal Advocacy Supervisor serves as the primary responder to medical advocacy calls providing crisis intervention, emotional support, and follow-up to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and provides staff, interns, and volunteers supervision through effective communication, training, scheduling, coaching, corrective action, and daily tasks guidance to ensure compliance with accountabilities, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities also include providing information and referrals for clients regarding issues of sexual assault, abuse and/or harassment, agency and community resources, pertinent court and/or medical information and perform advocacy work - accompanying client in hospital and/or courtroom, supporting clients in their interactions with the legal, law enforcement and medical communities, and arrange for safe transportation of clients.
The Medical and Legal Advocacy Supervisor coordinates the scheduling of volunteer and staff advocates to ensure timely responses to medical advocacy calls, provides training and materials to legal, law enforcement, medical professionals, and agency staff and volunteers, and maintains accurate data and documentation for agency and funding reports while ensuring confidentiality of information.
Must be passionate about CFPA’s mission, must work well independently and as a team and have good written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.
