What are the responsibilities and job description for the Multi Class Fitness and Wellness Instructor position at The Center?
Position Overview:
The Multi-Class Fitness & Wellness Instructor will lead and promote a variety of group fitness classes, including but not limited to yoga, line dancing, cardio, chair-based fitness, and Zumba. This individual must be adaptable, passionate about health and wellness, and capable of instructing multiple classes per day. They will also help promote participation, engage members, and step in as a substitute instructor when needed.
Key Responsibilities:Class Instruction & Engagement:
- Lead group fitness classes such as yoga, line dancing, cardio, chair-based exercises, and Zumba (or others based on expertise).
- Modify exercises and movements to accommodate all fitness levels and abilities.
- Create a welcoming, energetic, and inclusive atmosphere for participants.
- Provide clear instruction, demonstrate techniques, and ensure participant safety.
Class Promotion & Outreach:
- Encourage and increase participation in fitness classes and programs.
- Assist in marketing efforts by promoting classes through social media, flyers, and word-of-mouth.
- Engage with members and gather feedback to improve offerings.
- Collaborate with staff to schedule and develop new classes.
Substituting & Program Support:
- Serve as a substitute instructor for various fitness classes when needed.
- Adjust and adapt class styles based on participant needs.
- Assist in planning special fitness events and wellness initiatives.
- Support other instructors and programs to enhance overall class offerings.
Qualifications:
- Certified in at least one of the following: Yoga, Zumba, Line Dance, Group Fitness, or similar (Multiple certifications preferred).
- Experience teaching group fitness classes in a community or wellness setting.
- Strong communication and motivational skills.
- Ability to teach multiple classes per day.
- Flexible and able to step in as a substitute instructor when needed.
