What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at The Centers?
Prepares Nutritious Food for Residents/Clients/Staff/Catered Events
-Weighs and measures ingredients for quantity cooking
-Mixes ingredients according to prescribed amounts and techniques
-Prepares meats, vegetables, and other food for cooking according to individual requirements and restrictions.
-Selects seasonings for better taste.
-Uses procedures in accordance with roasting, baking, broiling, steaming, and frying
techniques.
-Operates equipment needed in food preparation such as mixer, oven, stove, steamer.
-Serves on tray line as assigned.
-Assists in transport of prepared food to other program sites.
-Responsible for overall menu preparation in a timely manner.
Maintains and Cleans Work Area:
-Properly stores and labels food and cleaning supplies.
-Replaces items used in daily operations.
-Prepares dishes/trays for dishwasher.
-Cleans pots and pans.
-Washes and cleans equipment and utensils .
-Reports items low in stock.
-Completes cleaning tasks as assigned.
