What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Systems Analyst position at The Cervantes Group?
The Business Systems Analyst will be participating in many aspects of the end-to-end project life cycle, such as technical requirements gathering, workflow documentation, technical design, roadmapping and UAT. This person must also be able to fluidly translate business specifications into technical designs and solutions regarding numerous system, platform, application, software, and cloud integrations/migrations. The BSA will be meeting with both business unit owners/end users and technical & engineering teams to gather functional requirements to create technical design and blueprints for solutions implementation through API configurations in addition to supporting Program and Upper-level management.
Job Duties:
Participate in the planning, decomposing, estimating, scheduling, prioritization and resource allocation exercises while creating Technical Design for projects ranging from UI development solutions with complex backend technical integrations (Web Services & API configurations) and gathering specifications.
Meet with clientele and users to obtain requirements through interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, workflow analysis and use cases.
Collaborate with cross functional teams, such as Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, QA and key Development teams, to strengthen and elevate the platform from a technology perspective.
Provide updates and project status reports when necessary to management.
Meet with upper management, users, business unit owners, and technical integration teams regarding the technical blueprint regarding platform and applications, including established API’s, system activity components, process flows, the underlying data model, implementation specifics of important business rules, batch jobs, user interface components, and application configuration.
Education & Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree is required
6 years’ experience gathering technical requirements and working with direct users (e.g. the Business, internal IT groups for ongoing solutions/integrations, etc.) regarding Java, DB (SQL Lite and MySQL), POSTMAN, APIs, Microservices
4 years’ experience designing and configuring technical solutions and generating technical documentation for project deliveries
Proven success working in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Strong knowledge of Information Security concepts
Plus:
Previous Project Management experience is a plus
Any certifications are highly desired (PMP, CAPM, CSM, Certified Project Manager-IAPM, etc.)
