Job Overview
The Lower School Head Teacher (grades K–3) creates and maintains an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment conducive to students' intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. Reporting to the Head of Lower School, this individual is committed to working creatively, flexibly, and closely with the grade team, co-curricular teachers, Learning Resources, Department Heads, and School Counselor to ensure student success. This community member participates fully in the life of the Lower School and Chapin.

Qualifications
Required

Bachelor’s Degree - Master’s Degree Preferred

Minimum two years of Lead Teaching Experience in an elementary classroom

Experience with Responsive Classroom

Commitment to Culturally Responsive Practices and fostering a Community of Belonging

Experience working with an inquiry-based math program, a robust literacy program, and an integrated social studies curriculum

Bilingual English/Spanish speakers are of special interest as our students learn Spanish starting in Kindergarten

Proficiency with digital tools such as Seesaw, Canvas, and the Google Suite for Education
Compensation: The compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience; the range is $70,000 to $130,000.
