What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Bartender (Part-Time) position at The Charleston Place?
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, beer, wine, and soft drinks, according to established recipes and standards.
- Greet guests, take beverage orders, and provide excellent customer service by answering questions about the drink menu, making recommendations, and ensuring guests' needs are met promptly.
- Verify the legal drinking age and adhere to responsible alcohol service guidelines, including monitoring guest intoxication and refusing service when necessary.
- Ensure that all beverages are presented in an attractive and appealing manner, with garnishes and appropriate glassware.
- Monitor and manage beverage inventory, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
- Set up the bar area before events, including stocking supplies, glassware, and ingredients. Clean and restock the bar area during and after events.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, follow safety guidelines, and adhere to food and beverage handling regulations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Familiarity with responsible alcohol service and legal drinking age regulations.
- Ability to travel and work off premises.
- Ability to open liquor bottles, wine bottles, cans and other containers.
- Ability to utilize wrench, slicer, ice scoop, blender, coffee maker, wine tool, soda gun, speed pourer, and strainer.
- Ability to mix drinkable drinks on demand, containing a consistent content of alcohol and other ingredients.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.

- Must be able to lift equipment, supplies, etc. of at least 30 pounds; push and pull equipment, supplies, etc., at least 100 pounds.
- Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
- The role may require extended periods of time on your feet, especially during peak hotel hours or events.
- Clear vision is important for reading reports, analyzing data, and overseeing Concierge activities.
- Good hearing is necessary for effective communication with colleagues, guests, and stakeholders.
